Graduation is a big deal. Like close-a-major-chapter-of-your-life big. And yet, so many grad photo sessions feel stiff, rushed, or painfully awkward. You show up, smile on command, hold your diploma, and leave thinking, Well… at least that’s done.
But what if your grad photos didn’t suck?
If you’re graduating from SDSU (or anywhere in San Diego), your photos can feel relaxed, fun, and actually you, while still looking polished and timeless. The goal isn’t just to check a box. It’s to document the last major season of your life before everything changes.
You don’t need to know how to pose. You don’t need to feel “photogenic.” My job is to guide you in a way that feels natural, lighthearted, and stress-free. Think movement, laughter, and moments that feel real—not frozen smiles.
Your graduation photos should remind you how this season felt: proud, excited, a little nostalgic, and ready for what’s next. Whether we’re shooting near SDSU or somewhere else in San Diego that feels like you, the vibe stays the same, easygoing and memorable.
Your outfit matters, but it doesn’t have to be complicated. A classic dress or elevated casual look paired with your cap and gown goes a long way. Want to take it up a notch? Treat yourself:
When you feel good, it shows in every photo.
Some of the best grad sessions include friends. You survived finals, group projects, and late nights together, why not document that? We can capture solo portraits and fun, candid moments with the people who made the journey with you.
Pro tip: plan dinner or drinks afterward. You’re already dressed up—turn your photo session into a full experience instead of another to-do on your calendar.
Graduation photos aren’t just about the degree. They’re about closing one chapter and standing on the edge of something new. This is the pause before the big things ahead, new cities, new jobs, new versions of you.
Your session should feel purposeful. A moment to reflect, celebrate, and be fully present before life speeds up again.
Most graduation photo submissions are due late April through May, which means sessions book up quickly. San Diego’s spring light is beautiful, and SDSU grads tend to plan around the same time, so earlier is always better.
If graduation is coming up, now is the time to get on the calendar.
If you want graduation photos that are comfortable, fun, and genuinely memorable, without feeling stiff or stressful, I’d love to work with you.
